Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Trivia Heist app (“the app”) collects, why, and the choices you have. Trivia Heist is made by bonendo (“we”, “us”). If you have a question, email trivia@bonendo.com.
In short: we collect only what the app needs to work (your account, your quiz results and your Premium status). We don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, we don't use analytics tools, and we never sell your information.
Information we collect
Account information
- Account ID. When you first open the app, it creates an anonymous guest account so your results can be saved. This needs no name, email or password.
- Email address, only if you sign in with Apple, Google or email. If you sign in with Apple and choose “Hide My Email”, we receive a private relay address instead of your real one.
- Username and avatar that you choose. Your username and avatar are shown publicly on the leaderboard.
Gameplay
- The quizzes you play, your answers, scores, answer times and when you played. We use these to calculate your score, streak, statistics and leaderboard rank.
Purchases
- If you subscribe to Premium, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details. We receive and store information Apple provides about your subscription: the product, its transaction ID, its status and when it renews or expires, so we can tell whether your account has Premium.
Reports
- If you report another player's username, we store your account ID with the report so the same report isn't counted twice. The reported player is never told who reported them.
Technical information
- Like any internet service, our servers receive your IP address and basic request details when the app connects. Our hosting provider keeps these in short-lived server logs for security and troubleshooting.
Information that stays on your device
- Your settings (appearance, haptics, reminder time), bookmarks and downloaded quizzes are stored only on your device.
- Today's Special reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. We don't use push notifications.
We don't collect your location, contacts, photos, browsing history, device advertising identifier or health data.
How we use your information
- To run the app: keep you signed in, save your progress, sync it across your devices and restore it if you reinstall.
- To show the leaderboard, your statistics and your streak.
- To give you Premium when you've subscribed.
- To send the sign-in and verification codes you ask for by email. We don't send marketing emails.
- To keep the app safe and fair, for example re-checking scores on the server and reviewing reported usernames.
If you're in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process this information because it's necessary to provide the app you asked for (performance of a contract), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and fair.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that run parts of the app for us, and only as needed:

Other players see only your username, avatar and points on the leaderboard. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Account, gameplay and subscription information: until you delete your account.
- Guest accounts that are never used again may be deleted after a period of inactivity.
- Server logs: a short period, typically a few days.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, username, quiz results, statistics and reports linked to you from our servers. It doesn't cancel an App Store subscription; manage that in your iPhone's Settings.
- Change your username or avatar in Profile.
- Play without signing in. Guests aren't shown on the leaderboard.
- Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to object to how we use it. Email trivia@bonendo.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Trivia Heist is a general-audience game. Anyone can play as a guest without giving a name or email address. Signing in and appearing on the leaderboard is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to each player's data is restricted on the server so players can read only their own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we'll also let you know in the app.
